Add to the e-portfolio as you go along, and learn to set up consistent systems; it is a critical field skill.
Each assignment will start building the skills necessary to complete your senior year Capstone Thesis, including research, written and verbal communication skills, creative/critical thinking, and understanding of symbolism. These proficiencies will be necessary for acceptance into a graduate program of study and expanded as a professional art therapist or counselor.
Visual Research on Mandala
You will complete a series of Mandala, two Mandala, and corresponding handouts will be completed in class and two on your own. There is a total of three handouts; for Mandala #4, choose one of the previous handouts. A 10- minute presentation will demonstrate your understanding of visual research, including your process and the course readings and lectures. You will not be graded on your imagery's aesthetic quality but on how thoroughly you answer the research questions on the syllabus. Answer all the questions, and from your answers, you will choose 10-minutes of information and share it with the class. There will be no PowerPoint, and you can use your notes, remember, this will be a cohesive presentation; you will want to practice.

What have you learned, and how will this new knowledge matter in the future as a professional?
Assignment 8: Critical Reflection Papers
To synthesize the reading material sufficiently, you are expected to write a 1-2 paragraph critical reflection on a specific chapter(s) or article(s) assigned for class. Your observations should NOT be a summary of the reading. Underlining key ideas and marking in the margins can help you organize your thoughts. These papers are designed to hone your critical reading and writing skills. The reflections will be written using a 3rd person voice.
