DES 482 Advanced Interior Design II
Major credit. Prerequisites: DES 284, 286, 288, 383, 384, 386, 387, 480, 481
Capstone, self-selected, interior design project demonstrating integration of curriculum content and developed through research, problem solving, sketching and digital visualization with a formal written and verbal presentation of the design process and solutions. Lab fee.
Course Learning Objectives and Evaluation
The successful completion of this course will result in:

Interior design majors will combine design theory, creativity and functionalism to develop effective interior solutions.

Interior design majors will create design solutions featuring human-centric design that responds to user needs and promotes health and wellbeing.

Interior design majors will justify their design decisions through written and verbal statements.

Interior design majors will utilize their knowledge and skills to complete entry level interior design responsibilities.
A handout for the capstone project will describe any specific assignment components and their evaluation criteria. Grades are earned, not given. Out-of-class student work is expected to equal at least 2 hours and 10 minutes (130 minutes) for each credit hour of class per week, or 6.5 hours per week for a 3-credit course. Refer to course policies below for late work and attendance penalties that will affect your final grade. Any changes in this evaluation must be agreed upon by each member of the class. A mid-semester grade, described below, will be issued. The final grade is comprised of all weighted areas.
